Centre for Plant Integrative Biology
University of Nottingham, United Kingdom
The Centre for Plant integrative Biology (CPIB) at the University of Nottingham brings together an interdisciplinary team to produce, test and refine multi-cell, multiscale models incorporating molecular networks, 3D geometry, and mechanics. One of six flagship UK Centres for Integrative Systems Biology funded by BBSRC and EPSRC, the Centre has expanded beyond its original core 'virtual root' research programme and provides a focal point for systems approaches to plant and crop science research within the University of Nottingham and beyond.
Research Topics Currently Explored at CPIB:
- Modelling molecular networks
- Multiscale modelling
- Modelling plant biomechanics
- Bioinformatics
- Model optimization
- Experimental biology
- Plant bioengineering techniques
- Image analysis
- Soil science
