The Center for Quantitative Biology

Princeton University, Princeton, New Jersey

The Center for Quantitative Biology's mission is to discover on a systems level how biological molecules interact and respond to their environment using advanced computational methods. The Center grant supports research programs in system-level biology and a broad array of infrastructure (both equipment and people). We currently have in place functioning facilities for DNA microarray manufacture, high-throughput sequencing, mass spectrometry, large-scale computation, and robust data analysis and management. In addition, a significant component of the Center is our Education and Outreach efforts.

Research Topics Currently Explored at the CQB

  • Intracellular Networks
  • Pattern and Cell Signaling in Multi-cellular Organisms
  • Host-Pathogen Interactions
  • Bioinformatics: Development of Computational Methods for Robust Functional Analysis

Ongoing international exchange:

Princeton Exchange Program with ETH Zürich

Our exchange program allows two Princeton and ETH undergraduates to spend the fall semester abroad in a combination of research and course work in biology.

Applying from ETH:
http://www.mobilitaet.ethz.ch/outgoings/programs/programme_students/worldwide/usa/princeton/index_EN

Applying from Princeton:
Complete the ETH application form for exchange students (within the framework of a bilateral agreement). Completed applications should be submitted to the Office of International Programs, 36 University Place, Suite 350.

In addition to completing the ETH Zürich application, you must submit the Princeton approval form, which is due on May 1 (for the fall). The approval form requires upperclass students to secure the approval of their departmental representative for departmental courses and independent work that they plan to undertake as part of the departmental program. Elective courses are approved by the Office of International Programs.
