Donnelly Centre for Cellular and Biomolecular Research
University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada
The Donnelly Centre for Cellular and Biomolecular Research opened its doors in 2005 to world-renowned researchers from many disciplines. The Donnelly Centre combines the Faculties of Medicine, Pharmacy and Applied Science and Engineering and brings in disciplines such as chemistry and computer science. Researchers from a variety of fields come together to identify the causes and cures of diseases.
Thanks to an investment from the Government of Canada, the province of Ontario, private sector companies and visionary philanthropist Dr. Terrence J. Donnelly, The Donnelly Centre continues to inspire more than 30 principal investigators and 500 research staff members.
The Donnelly Centre takes this holistic approach to biomedical research: By integrating technology, expertise and thought from a diverse array of disciplines, it aims to unravel some of the great complexities of biology. In the process, the Centre is poised to make some significant future advances in medicine and health.
Researchers at the Centre are beginning to produce breakthrough insights on a key frontier—understanding the complex ways in which genes and proteins interact with one another.
